As a Maintained Nursery School we are inspected under section 5 of the Education Act 2005. This is the Ofsted framework which is used to inspect all schools. This is a much more robust inspection regime compared to other pre school providers, therefore the judgments do not enable a direct comparison with other nurseries and pre schools that are not maintained by the local authority.
The Nursery School underwent a short section 8 inspection by Ofsted in December 2015 and we were very happy to maintain our strong good grading.
Positive relationships mean children are happy to engage with any of the adults. Adults model good spoken English and listening, encouraging and challenging the children well to develop their communication skills.
Children behave well because they are motivated by the quality and range of activities and resources provided. Good supervision and close attention to the needs of individuals help to pre-empt any social difficulties.
The Under 3’s was inspected under section 49 and 50 of the Childcare Act 2006
The Under 3’s provision was inspected by Ofsted in August 2014, and was graded as ‘Good’ with some outstanding features.
Children have an excellent relationship with their key person, which ensures they are emotionally secure and ready to take the next steps in their learning and development.
Staff have an excellent knowledge of their key children and are extremely confident in their knowledge of individual children’s level of development and next steps.
